Why should I work for you?
It has been called a “war on talent” or an “acute skills shortage” and its impact on the labour market has been stark. Great employees, if not engaged, move quickly between organisations. Whilst specialist recruitment companies reap the benefits, many employers are left feeling disillusioned by their ability to attract, select and retain quality talent.
Organisations need to respond to these market conditions in three ways:
- Present a compelling case for prospective employees which answers the question, "Why should I work for you?” Key elements include clearly articulated remuneration and benefits, flexible work practices, training and development opportunities.
- Implement an effective selection process making sure that you are using sound resume screening principles, quality behavioural based interviews, appropriate simulation and assessment tests and thorough reference checking.
- Deliver on your promise so that once the candidate commences with your organisation they experience well structured induction and onboarding process.
